Prosecutors allege Jeffries and his partner exploited dozens of men
Authorities arrested former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries and his partner, Matthew Smith, on Tuesday, accusing them of running an international sex trafficking and prostitution operation. Federal prosecutors claim that Jeffries and Smith used their wealth and status to coerce men into performing sexual acts.
Along with the couple, James Jacobson, identified as their recruiter, faces charges for his role in the operation. In cases where the men couldn’t or didn’t want to participate, the couple allegedly injected them with drugs to ensure compliance.
Prosecutors have identified 15 victims so far, though they believe many more were involved. Peace stated the operation likely exploited “dozens and dozens of men,” suggesting a broader pattern of abuse.

Prosecutors allege that the couple used their financial resources to fund international travel, hotel stays, and security personnel.
